Lo and behold, Mesut Ozil has won Arsenal’s Player of the Month award again.

The playmaker won with a huge 81.2% of the votes for the third month in a row and the result will come as a surprise to absolutely no one.

The 27-year-old has now reached 16 assists for the season, has found the back of the net five times and has become our most important player. Not only has he directly contributed to a huge amount of goals but his ability to dictate play, pull out a moment of sheer brilliance and provide impossible passes has made him a pleasure to watch.

However, are we relying on him too heavily?

It’s predicted that we’ll rest the German in our FA Cup match against Sunderland on Saturday and he needs it. After making 26 appearances so far this season, he’s one of our most used players and with his injury history, it’s sensible to at least keep him on the bench for the tie.

With the third POTM award in a row also comes the accusation that Arsenal could be becoming a ‘one man team’, which we haven’t heard since the days of Robin van Persie. However, just watching this Arsenal side shows this isn’t the case. Our goals are coming from all over the pitch and just because Ozil has been amazing this season, doesn’t mean the rest of our squad has been poor. Ozil is just that good.
