Jurgen Klopp praised Arsene Wenger ahead of Arsenal and Liverpool’s Premier League match on Wednesday.

The former Dortmund manager admits that although he’s always had respect for the boss, since joining the Premier League and realising how intense it is, this respect has grown.

Speaking ahead of our trip to Anfield, Klopp said, “My respect goes up day by day because it’s really intensive to work in the Premier League, especially in a team with international matches [for their players] too.”

The German manager added, “He always had my biggest respect but now it’s a little bit bigger since I’m here. That’s really a brilliant job he’s done – 19-and-a-half years.”

The respect that Klopp feels for Wenger is entirely mutual. However, when it comes to the match, I doubt there’ll be many niceties. Both teams will be out to win and while Klopp hasn’t managed to hit his stride in the Premiership just yet, we’ve suffered some horrific defeats at the hands of Liverpool at Anfield.

Hopefully, we won’t underestimate our opposition. Although, with a team like Liverpool, I doubt we will. We’re more than capable of going and coming away with all three points. Let’s do so and hold on to that top spot.
