Jorge Sampaoli, the man who helped mastermind Chile’s Copa América success in the summer, could be coming to England.

The Argentine manager has parted ways with the Chilean FA after weeks of speculation, and could be one of a number of incredibly successful managers on his way to England.

Sampaoli enjoys a good relationship with Alexis, who is the star of the Chilean national side. Though the Arsenal man struggled to hit top form, the pair combined to lead Chile to their first ever trophy in the summer with Alexis scoring the penalty to clinch the Copa América on home soil.

Despite taking La Roja to dizzying heights, Sampaoli has been unhappy with the Chilean FA and his exit has been on the cards for a little while now. First linked with the Swansea job a few weeks ago, he is now sure to be targeted by Chelsea along with Diego Simeone.

At the Ballon d’Or ceremony last week, where Sampaoli was nominated for FIFA’s Coach of the Year award, Spanish journalist Guillem Balague met the coach and said he wants to come to England for his next job.

The Premier League is already going to see Pep Guardiola arrive in the next 18 months, and the likes of Sampaoli and Simeone could follow with Manchester United and Chelsea looking unstable. Last year I wrote about the issues Premier League clubs have had in Europe and focused on tactical issues, namely pressing.

Jürgen Klopp has already arrived, Mauricio Pochettino continues to impress, and names like Guardiola, Sampaoli and Simeone could be on British shores soon. If their previous work is anything to go by, the Premier League is about to become a lot stronger.
