Rumours have begun to circulate early on Sunday that Olivier Giroud is a doubt for the clash with Chelsea due to a suspected ankle injury.

Although this is just Twitter hearsay for now, the account the news seems to have originated from was also spot on with the news about Mesut Ozil’s foot injury against Stoke.

Giroud could do with a rest, although obviously everyone would rather this was by choice rather than injury. If he is out, we’ll be seeing Theo Walcott up top, which he enjoys and is a position he’s seen quite a bit of success against Chelsea in.

With this said, the rumours could be nothing, but we should still remain confident going into the match.

Alexis and Ozil are set to return, although the former may not start after being sidelined for so long. We also may get the chance to see new boy Mohamed Elneny get his first run out for the club.
