Mathieu Flamini is the latest in a long line of people to publicly praise Mesut Ozil.

Flamini spoke recently about Ozil’s vision on the pitch and also highlighted the importance of having a good relationship off the pitch.

“We are close friends and we have a good time on and off the pitch,” the Frenchman said.

“That’s very important because, if you want to be able to perform, you have to feel happy in your head and feel confident off the pitch.

“I believe he is [happy] here and we have such a great atmosphere here that it makes it very easy for him to feel comfortable.”

It’s no secret that Flamini and Ozil, or ‘Flamzil’, are friends off the pitch. In fact, it’s one of the only things that worries me about Flamini leaving. The two have struck up a perhaps unlikely friendship since being at the club together and it’s obvious they genuinely like each other.

The midfielder also spoke about Ozil’s ‘vision’, mentioning that not many players can do what he does.

“It’s very important to have him on our side because, as you can all see, he can make the difference at any time,” he said.

“He has been giving so many assists and has been making so much difference in the past few games, so it’s a pleasure to play next to him and it’s also a pleasure to watch him on the pitch.

“His vision is something that you don’t find very often, so he’s easily one of the best players I’ve ever played with.”

It’s fantastic to see other players praise Ozil, even if they are his mates. However, as I previously mentioned, it does worry me that when Flamini leaves, Ozil might feel a bit lost. Although he does have other players in the squad who he obviously talks to and likes, losing his BFF might throw him off balance a bit.
