Our match against Chelsea at the Emirates on Sunday was typically full of controversy, as is the norm whenever we face the Blues.

Firstly we had Per Mertesacker sent off early on, reducing us to 10 men. Soon after, everyone’s favourite guy, Diego Costa, scored.

Despite gradually warming into the game and applying pressure, we failed to capitalise on any of our chances and in the final portion of the match, Laurent Koscielny shoulder-barged Cesc Fabregas off the ball, which should have been a penalty.

Fortunately for us (I guess), it wasn’t given, and former Gunner (pfft) Cesc was not happy.

“It’s not the first time, it’s not the second, it’s not the third that I was denied a penalty,” he said.

“So I’m not surprised any more.

“Yes, really. Counting last year. Maybe it’s a coincidence.”

Was it a penalty? Yes. Probably. However, I can’t help but feel a little (okay, a lot) bitter that a man who claimed not that long ago to still love the club, and more importantly man, that made him, would protest so vehemently about a decision not going his way when his team were already a goal up.

I understand that this is a completely skewed point of view as I’m biased but one of the takeaways from Sunday’s loss was that Cesc is definitely not, and maybe never truly was, a Gunner.
