Mathieu Debuchy has reportedly been given permission to leave Arsenal in January amid rumours that a loan deal with West Brom could be on the cards.

The right-back made it clear a long time ago that he wouldn’t be staying in north London if he didn’t start getting regular playing time. However, after returning from injury, his skill, pace and positioning all took a hit and Hector Bellerin remained first choice in the starting XI.

It’s now no secret that the Frenchman could be leaving as early as the winter transfer window, with the likes of Roma, Lyon and West Brom all interested.

According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal would rather a loan move + £1m fee but will allow the defender to move permanently if they strike the right deal.

This recent news makes the likelihood of the loan move to the Baggies we reported on days ago appear even higher.
