Calum Chambers scored an absolute stunner in the first half against Burnley on Saturday.

The goal marked the right-backs first of the season so far and the former Southampton man was over the moon with his contribution to the win, which sent us through to the fifth round of the FA Cup where we face Hull City at the Emirates.

Although Burnley came back to equalise before half time, Alexis Sanchez put us 2-1 ahead in the second half and we managed to hold onto the win.

Speaking after the match, Chambers admitted that he’s actually been practicing finishes like that in training.

“My only two goals have come against Burnley,” he said.

“I actually thought about it yesterday! I thought I might sneak a goal and I did.

“It is one of those ones which you do on the training ground. It just came to me and I thought I’d give it a go. It went into the side netting so it was pretty good.”

The defender also revealed that he’s been turning to Alexis for goalscoring advice.

“I watch [Alexis] in training and took a bit of advice and had a go at it,” Chambers admitted.

“It went in so it was good.”

To be fair, there are a lot worse places he could be looking and it appears whatever the Chilean’s been showing him in training is obviously paying off, if the goal on Saturday is anything to go by.
