The Sun has revealed that Arsene Wenger is about to extend his contract with Arsenal until 2019.

There’s been talk of the Frenchman signing on with us for another couple of seasons recently, considering his current success with the squad he’s built and now it appears he will be staying.

According to the Sun, the boss wants to complete a makeover of the club’s backroom staff before signing on the dotted line, as he’s preparing the squad for the future.

Thierry Henry has already committed to coaching our attacking youth players and it was recently revealed that Dennis Bergkamp will be earning his coaching badges at the club. It’s unclear if this is what Wenger means by preparing for the future but it’s a very exciting prospect.

Fortunately, I’m yet to encounter an Arsenal fan who wants Wenger gone (I obviously follow the right people) and therefore, the news will come as welcome relief to people who may have been worrying about him leaving. It should also put a stop to all the Pep Guardiola rumours, which had no substance in the first place.
