Arsenal target, Alexandre Lacazette, has admitted that in the summer, he’s ready for a move away from Lyon, potentially to England.

The striker has only ever played for the Ligue A club. However, he now feels it’s time for a change and has hinted that a Premier League move could be on the cards.

“Now I am used to dealing with all the rumours,” he said.

“But when they started, maybe two years ago, I was destabilised a little by it.

“But now I am used to it. For me, it’s not so hard because I was not ready to leave two years ago or even last season.

“I was not ready then and my goal is not to go to England for the sake of going to England and I don’t want to go to a club and sit on the bench.”

He added, “So at that time it was not hard for me to stay here. It was a question of waiting until I was ready and I am now ready this summer.”

The 24-year-old has scored nine goals in 24 appearances for Lyon so far this season, which is a decent return. However, whether this will translate in another league is yet to be seen.

We’ve been linked with Lacazette for a while now and although my first reaction was the think it’s rubbish, it actually makes sense that we might be looking to bring him in during the summer window. By then, we’ll have a far better read on what Welbeck’s capable of, considering he should have returned from injury.

Also, we’ll know if Walcott is really the best back-up striker we have or whether we should look elsewhere for Giroud’s understudy.

Here are some of Lacazette’s best bits from last season.
