Former Arsenal striker Benik Afobe scored for his new club Bournemouth on Saturday.

Afobe recently signed for the Cherries for a record-breaking £10m and has got himself off to the best start after contributing to a 3-0 win over Norwich. The goal is his first in the Premier League and hopefully a taste of things to come for the 22-year-old.

Although Afobe is no longer an Arsenal player, it’s fantastic to see him excelling in the Premier League. He loved Arsenal, but after several loan moves, he just didn’t fit into our first team and in order to progress, needed to leave.

Now, it appears his ambition, drive and patience is paying off and I couldn’t be prouder.

Afobe is a prime example of how just because a young player doesn’t make it at Arsenal, doesn’t mean to say he has no future. The lad is going from strength to strength and living his dream right now.
