After failing to secure regular first team football, could Calum Chambers be off to Everton?

Roberto Martinez is reportedly keeping an eye on Chambers and could be planning to buy him in order to replace John Stones. The Toffies’ defender is a man in demand, with the likes of Man United, Chelsea and Barcelona all lining up to get his signature.

Therefore, the Everton boss is already hunting for a replacement and Chambers is first in line.

Since Hector Bellerin overtook the youngster in the pecking order at Arsenal, Chambers has found it hard to get game time with the senior team. Instead, the defender has had to make do with playing for our youth squad and warming our bench.

Letting him go could be a huge mistake though. Although he’s not a starter for us, he is an option if we succumb to injury or need to rest one of our first team. He’s also versatile and has even expressed an interest in playing in midfielder recently.

If we were to sell him, it either weakens our squad as a whole or means we have to find a replacement, neither of which I think Wenger wants to do.
