Mesut Ozil has been crowned Arsenal’s Player of the Month with a whopping 87.2% of the votes but could this actually be detrimental to the Gunners in the long run?

The German is world class, plain and simple. Over the last couple of months we’ve had the privilege of watching him level up in a way most of us could only dream of.

It’s therefore unsurprising that he won our Player of the Month award. However, did we really have any other choice? In second place, miles behind Ozil, was Alexis with just 6% of the votes and while this goes to show how amazing the former Real Madrid man has been, it’s concerning that so many of our other players are that far behind.

No matter how outstanding Ozil is, I can’t shake the feeling that we might start relying on him a little too heavily, especially now that Alexis is out with injury, and we all know how that one ends. An injury to Ozil could completely derail any hope we have of challenging for the title.

Now that Rambo is back in action, hopefully the burden will be taken off Ozil’s shoulders and we can start to see other players coming back to form.
