Mesut Ozil has gone from being a ‘flop’ (the media’s words, not mine) to Arsenal’s focal point.

So far, the 2015/16 season has been huge for our German midfielder. His assist count has now reached 16 – over half of his total for Arsenal – and he’s not showing any signs of slowing down.

The playmaker is not only the driving force behind our attack, he’s also now scoring goals, and did so in sublime fashion against Bournemouth in the Premier League to bring the result to 2-0.

Speaking about the midfield maestro after the match, Arsene Wenger admitted that Ozil has become the focal point of our game.

“[Ozil] was the focal point of our team today,” the boss said.

“He gives us security and confidence. He convinces everyone he is a talented player that works very hard. He is a complete player.

“He has remarkable technical ability. He is somebody who thinks always on the right tone.”

During huge spells against the Cherries, Ozil was the only player who appeared to be creating anything. By half time, he could have had three or four assists, rather than just the one, and he looked dangerous whenever he had the ball.

My only concern is that if he does get injured, or need to be rested, where will this come from?
