Another Arsenal game, and Mesut Özil going about his business as usual.

The German playmaker has now laid on an incredible 13 goals in 15 Premier League appearances this season. Teeing Aaron Ramsey up for Arsenal’s second goal on Sunday, Özil could have gone through on his own but unselfishly played a simple pass for Ramsey, who added the finish.

A quick move from front to back, it was a joy to watch.

“That’s the way we want to play football and when it comes off it’s good,” Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger said to Sky Sports after the game. “But I must say Mesut is an absolute complete, collective player and sometimes he’s frustrated he doesn’t get the same balls back but he’s a very important link in our game.”

There’s no doubt that Özil game could be improved even further by more goals, but he obviously doesn’t have Mesut Özil supplying him as everyone else in the squad does.

He’s more than crucial to Arsenal, and constantly provides chances. If he could score more often that would be great, but it’s hard to imagine he is that bothered by his own goalscoring record.

The ultimate team player, utterly unselfish, Mesut Özil’s top of the league.
