Following our 3-1 win against Sunderland on Saturday, Arsene Wenger admitted that Arsenal were a little ‘edgy’ in the first half.

Come the stroke of half time we were level with the Black Cats: a position we’ve been in concerningly often recently. Many of us were already preparing for another draw or, even worse, a loss.

Fortunately, in the second half we appeared to dig in and realise what we’re actually capable of. Although our performance was still far from perfect, we managed to get the goals we needed and win the three points we’ve been craving for weeks.

The boss insisted that our lacklustre first half was mainly down to nerves and that now we can go on and build on the victory.
