Thierry Henry has changed his tune: he now doesn’t believe Wenger needs to bring in anyone else for us to win the league.

However, he does think a defensive midfielder would be a bonus.

Since Francis Coquelin picked up a serious knee injury recently and was ruled out for months, Flamini has had to stand in and the midfielder can be a little naive. He’s also getting on a bit and is likely to leave soon, so getting another defensive midfielder would be… nice… shall we say?

Henry agrees.

“It’s a hard one, because for me right now I think Arsenal’s squad is good enough to win the league,” the pundit said.

“What we need is some backup to make sure we have a guy that can hold the fort if Flamini gets injured.

“The position would be holding midfielder for me, and with Arsenal they are at the top and the amount of injuries they’ve had is not normal.”

The Arsenal legend originally said we couldn’t win the league with Giroud as our main striker but he seems to have elaborated on his original comments after Theo developed into a very capable front man. Now, we are looking like a very decent squad and we’re in a really strong position. Any potential signing we do make in January would just be the icing on top.
