Arsenal remain without Alexis Sanchez going into our match against Southampton on Boxing Day.

Despite early reports suggesting the Chilean could return against Man City, it soon emerged that the forward suffered a small set-back and will be out for a little while longer.

It’s therefore of no surprise that he’s not back in full training, nor will he feature in our Boxing Day clash against Southampton.

“We have nobody coming back,” Wenger revealed in his pre-Southampton press conference.

Wenger also added that although we’ve got no players coming back in for the fixture, we’ve also lost none, so it’s likely we’ll see an unchanged team walk out at St. Mary’s on the 26th.

While it’s disappointing that Alexis hasn’t returned as soon as we would have hoped, the player could do with the rest and we seem to be coping without him for the time being. Hopefully he continues to recuperate and comes back fighting fit soon. I don’t want to imagine the alternative.
