Despite not having the most dazzling football career, Jermain Defoe has a pretty decent record this season.

His record against Arsenal over the years isn’t fantastic, but the fact that he’s set to miss our clash with Sunderland on Saturday will still be music to Wenger’s ears.

The striker, who’s scored two goals and got four assists against us in 24 matches, tweaked his hamstring in Sunderland’s 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace and although the injury isn’t that serious, it’s enough to keep him out of the game.

The former Spurs man is currently the Black Cats’ top goal scorer and with them currently hovering precariously above the relegation zone with just 12 points, he’ll be a big miss. Although Big Sam is insisting that his team has enough cover to deal with the loss of their main man, I wouldn’t be so sure considering he’s scored almost half their goals this season.

On the plus side, it means the Wearside team will have less of a chance of actually scoring against us and we need all the help we can get at the moment.
