Despite being tipped to get his first start for Ajax in a while, loanee Yaya Sanogo didn’t even make the bench.

The newly fit striker was thought to join the first team in their deciding match of the Europa League against Molde. However, both the team and player will be left disappointed after the 22-year-old was left out again and the dutch team could only manage 1-1 – not good enough to progress.

Poor Sanogo hasn’t been having the best time this year. He spent the first half on loan to fellow Premiership team Crystal Palace before being shipped off to Amsterdam. Early on, he picked up a groin injury and when he’s not been sidelined, he’s usually playing for the youth squad – not exactly what the youngster wanted from a loan move, which had such potential.

It’s looking more and more likely that the Frenchman, who we acquired from Auxerre for free, won’t remain an Arsenal player for long.
