Arsenal stars Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Özil missed Tuesday morning’s training session at London Colney, but are still travelling to Greece for Wednesday’s huge Champions League clash.

Arsenal have to beat Olympiacos by any score which isn’t 1-0 or 2-1 in order to qualify for the knockout rounds of the Champions League, and Ramsey and Özil will be needed to ensure the best chance of victory.

They didn’t train in London on Tuesday, but are still travelling for the game along with the rest of the squad.

There will be another training session at the Karaiskakis Stadium on Tuesday evening, where Arsène Wenger will also hold a press conference on Tuesday. After the boss meets with the media and the players train we should have a clearer idea of whether or not they are available.

With Alexis Sánchez, Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin, Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky out Arsenal can’t really afford any more injuries, and certainly not to key players.

Ramsey and Özil both impressed against Sunderland at the weekend, but the Gunners will be relying on a thin squad only backed up by youth options if either player is missing. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain started for the first time since October on Saturday, and Theo Walcott played his first 30 minutes in over a month.

Relying on those players to stay fit would be something of a disaster, and a setback Arsenal can’t afford.
