Arsenal welcome Sunderland to north London on Saturday, with a bit of an injury crisis in tow.

The Gunners are without a number of first choice players, hugely limiting Arsène Wenger’s selection choices.

He does have some room for rotation, should he choose it, at the back but will probably stick to playing the same goalkeeper and defence as he usually chooses.

With Petr Čech in goal behind Héctor Bellerín, Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal, the Gunners can hope to at least keep a clean sheet to have a great chance of winning.

Gabriel could play ahead of Koscielny, who was subbed off against Norwich, but the Frenchman has a chance of being available and Wenger would like to avoid making changes where possible.

Mathieu Flamini will continue to step in for Francis Coquelin, but will be partnered by Aaron Ramsey at the base of the midfield. That means a new player will be needed on the right wing, as well as the left wing. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will probably start on one side after playing just 20 minutes in November, with Joel Campbell on the other side.

Without Alexis, Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott – who could make the squad – Olivier Giroud will start up front. Walcott is another option for a wide berth, but hasn’t played since the end of October.
