We did it.

Despite some early Olympiacos pressure and Arsenal giving away the ball cheaply, we soon bedded into the match and answered any questions being asked of us.

Campbell and Giroud in particular had the game of their lives and really delivered when we needed them to.

Against all the odds, we’re through to the knock-out stages of the Champions League and I couldn’t be prouder.

Petr Cech – 8

Although the goalkeeper didn’t have a massive amount to do, when he needed to make a save he delivered and managed to keep a clean sheet at a difficult ground.

Per Mertesacker – 7

Although the German hasn’t been terrible this season, some of his decision making hasn’t been up to his usual standard. Today, he proved why he’s our captain and kept our back line in check.

Laurent Koscielny – 8

Kos had an amazing game. He repeatedly put himself in harm’s way and placed his body on the line for the good of the team – exactly what you want to see from a centre back.

Mesut Ozil – 8

Another superb game for the playmaker. He put a beautiful ball through to Ramsey for his assist for the first goal and got another pre-assist for the second.

Olivier Giroud – 10

I don’t think there’s anyway I could give the Frenchman less than a 10. His strength and positioning was top notch and his hattrick was brilliant.

Theo Walcott – 7

Although he improved when he was switched to the left, you could tell the forward was just coming back from injury. I’m sure he’ll improve with time.

Aaron Ramsey – 8

From the first minute, the midfielder was back making tackles, working his socks off, and got an assist for Giroud’s first goal.

Nacho Monreal – 8.5

The Spaniard tried to get forward at every opportunity and was completely solid at the back.

Mathieu Flamini – 7

Although the Frenchman misplaced a few passes in the first half, he also hit the bar (we’ll casually ignore the fact that he was so far up the pitch) and put in a couple of decent interceptions late on.

Hector Bellerin – 7

The defender still isn’t playing his best and kept consistently getting caught out of position.

Joel Campbell – 9.5

The forward played his best match in an Arsenal shirt and even earned the applause of the home fans as he was subbed off. His assist for Giroud’s second goal was sublime and he never stopped fighting.

SUBS

Kieran Gibbs – 6

The defender was involved from the the moment he stepped on the pitch and helped sure up our defence in order to keep our clean sheet.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – N/A

Calum Chambers – N/A
