We did it.

Arsenal beat Man City at the Emirates 2-1 and it was thoroughly deserved.

Despite having large periods of possession, we were far more cutting with our passing and clinical with our attempts on goal.

The final 20 minutes were a bit nervy but we weathered the storm. Nice one, lads.

Petr Cech – 7

Although we conceded a goal near the end, the keeper was mostly untroubled and dealt with almost anything that came his way.

Hector Bellerin – 7

The youngster appears to be returning to his best. His speed gave us a vital edge, especially considering Sterling isn’t exactly slow, and his positioning was slightly better.

Laurent Koscielny – 8

Always solid, always superb. The centre-back gave everything to intercept any danger, particularly in the final 20 minutes.

Per Mertesacker – 8

The big guy had a fantastic game, starting from a huge interception early on to the final minutes when he was getting back to cover.

Nacho Monreal – 7.5

Another great game for one of our most consistent players.

Mathieu Flamini – 7

The midfielder actually had a good game. He kept Silva pretty quiet and was trying to calm things down when it got hectic.

Aaron Ramsey – 7

The guy has so much energy he can’t be human. He could have done better with his attempt on goal late on but he does so much for the team it’s hard to find fault.

Mesut Ozil – 9

Two more assists. Need I say more?

Joel Campbell – 7.5

Joel had another good game. He never stopped chasing and looks as if he’s improving by the match. One thing I would like him to cut down on is the theatrics when he gets fouled but hopefully that’ll stop with time.

Theo Walcott – 8

Not only did he score a beaut’ but he continued to look a threat going forward. It’s so good to have him back.

Olivier Giroud – 8

Another goal for the Frenchman. You could tell how much the win meant to him from his celebration at the final whistle.

SUBS

Kieran Gibbs – 5.5

A bit edgy when he came on and made a couple of odd mistakes.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – N/A

Calum Chambers – N/A
