Another Saturday of football naturally meant more minutes for Arsenal’s on-loan contingent.

Coming off the bench for West Ham at Old Trafford, Carl Jenkinson found himself playing on the left wing as the Hammers earned a 0-0 draw against Manchester United. Not somewhere he’s usually found, Jenkinson even managed a dribble during just two minutes on the pitch.

Maybe Arsenal could do with Jenkinson right now, with Alexis Sánchez injured. Or, yeah, maybe not.

Fellow Premier League loanee Serge Gnabry once again didn’t even manage to make the West Bromwich Albion bench. He’s not been in a matchday squad since September, with Tony Pulis making it perfectly clear that he has been disappointed by the young winger.

In Serie A, Wojciech Szczęsny returned to the AS Roma side after being dropped a week ago. There were rumours that the Polish goalkeeper had been dropped for smoking, but they proved to be unfounded with manager Rudi Garcia insisting the goalkeeper had done nothing wrong.

Back in the Roma team on Saturday, he could do nothing as a late injury time penalty was scored, costing Roma two points.
