It’s the news Arsenal fans have been dreading.

The knee ligament damage suffered by Santi Cazorla at Carrow Road on Sunday is set to keep him out of action until at least March, according to the Guardian.

Cazorla has started every Premier League and Champions League game this season, and Arsenal are already without midfield partner Francis Coquelin for a similar amount of time. As a result, the entire midfield will have to undergo a reshuffle.

Aaron Ramsey has just returned from an injury, but much of the burden will now fall on his shoulders. The Welshman has played on the right of the midfield for the majority of the last year, but is keen to play centrally and will now have to play there.

A run in the side for Mathieu Flamini beckons, and Calum Chambers is also being tested as a central midfielder. Mikel Arteta is out with a muscle injury, while Jack Wilshere is yet to feature this season.

If there are any more injuries before 2016 begins, Krystian Bielik or Glen Kamara will likely have to step into the first team. Surely now, after failing to sign someone in the summer, this news will force Arsène Wenger into the January transfer window for a midfielder?
