Francis Coquelin hailed Arsenal’s team spirit during his injury, as well as the squad’s ability to step up to the plate when needed.

Speaking recently, the midfielder, who’s currently sidelined for months with a serious knee injury, praised the likes of Ramsey and Flamini, who are filling in and doing a decent job while he’s out.

“If someone gets injured, the spirit in the squad is really good,” he said.

“As soon as someone comes in, they put a shift in and you can see that even when we lose a lot of players, because the team is still really strong. That’s really good for what we want to achieve, to win the title, so it’s great to be able to count on everyone.”

He added, “The good thing is that everyone gets along with each other in the squad and that makes a lot of things easier. When you go to tell someone off, you do it and everyone takes it in a good way. We all want to go in the same direction. It’s a great partnership.”

Coq has been huge for us since we had to recall him from Charlton after numerous first team injuries. He’s turned into a fan favourite and, when fit, is pretty much a guaranteed starter.

It’s great that the Frenchman is positive about his recovery and the team’s performances since he’s been out. It’s crucial that he doesn’t let his spirits dampen. He’s still young and can make a full recovery before the end of the season.

Hopefully he remains on track and doesn’t suffer any set-backs. Arsenal players love a set-back, don’t they?
