Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has won the club’s goal of the month for November, with a huge 41% of the vote.

Giroud’s goal against Bayern Munich came with Arsenal already 4-0 down in the Allianz Arena, but was apparently good enough to see off six other goals from the month to claim the award.

Maybe surprisingly, given everyone’s love for him, Mesut Özil’s diving header against Dinamo Zagreb collected just 16% of votes, while his lovely chip over John Ruddy at Norwich last weekend won 14%. He does have the consolation of winning player of the month both at Daily Cannon and the official Arsenal award.

The rest of the votes were shared between Kieran Gibbs’ north London derby equaliser (16%), Alexis’ first goal against Dinamo Zagreb (2%) and Alexis’ second goal in the same game (9%), as Giroud’s header at West Brom picked up an unimpressive 0% of votes.

The game and the result were disappointing, but at least Giroud’s goal was a good one.
