With a relegation battle potentially on the cards, Newcastle are looking to strengthen their squad this January and, according to reports, plan on doing so by buying Joel Campbell and Mathieu Debuchy.

Debuchy, who we originally bought from the Magpies, has been struggling to get into the first team since he was injured. He’s lost a lot of pace and seems to have completely forgot where he should be on the pitch. The younger, faster, generally better Bellerin has taken his place and Debuchy has expressed his disappointment.

It’s pretty much a given that the Frenchman will leave Arsenal sooner rather than later. However, Joel Campbell is currently coming into his own in the first team.

Injuries to both the Ox and Theo has meant the forward has finally gotten a chance to shine and he’s now starting every match. Therefore, it’d be a shame to see him go. After such a long wait, I don’t see us saying goodbye too easily.
