Throughout a disappointing November, Mesut Özil gave us hope. He gave us all something to believe in.

Arsenal played five times in November, winning just once (against Dinamo Zagreb) and losing twice.

However, the performances of Mesut Özil haven’t dipped below being superb, even when those around him have struggled. For that reason, the German wins our POTM award for the second month running.

After a disallowed goal cut short celebration of an equaliser at the Allianz Arena, Arsenal were never in the game against Bayern Munich. Özil was booked for his complaints, but hit back the following weekend with an assist to help us save a point in the north London derby.

The international break came and went and he assisted in the loss at West Brom, setting a new Premier League record. This was his seventh consecutive Premier League game with an assist, a number nobody has ever achieved before.

A goal against Dinamo Zagreb showed a new desire to get in the box and on the end of moves, as well as setting Arsenal on the way to an important win in the Champions League. A few days later and he was at it again, scoring the opener at Carrow Road on Sunday in the 1-1 draw with Norwich.

Arsenal underwhelmed in November, but Mesut Özil remained as impressive as ever.
