Petr Cech has had his say on the current crisis at Chelsea following Jose Mourinho’s dismissal.

The goalkeeper, who joined us in the summer from the south London team, left for first team football and he’s admitted that it probably was the right time considering the state the club is in right now.

“I had to take the decision to leave even if it was not easy,” he said.

“The time has shown that the decision was the right one.”

He went on, “Every team can have a time when it goes badly.

“Always when it seemed that Chelsea would rise, they fell. So this problem is probably bigger than everybody supposed.”

It’s encouraging to see Cech confident in his decision to leave the club he spent most of his career at. He’s been nothing short of a revelation for us since joining, not just in terms of clean sheets and helping us not leak goals, but behind the scenes. Numerous players have sung his praises, hailing his professionalism and communication skills, and it’s become very obvious that he’s far more than just a good goalkeeper.

Hopefully we carry on with our run of good form and give Cech even more of a reason to not regret leaving Chelsea.
