Ahmet Nur Cebi, vice president of Besiktas, has confirmed that the Turkish club are interested in signing David Ospina when the summer transfer window opens.

The Colombian has been relegated to the bench after a number of high profile errors and despite being given a chance in this year’s Champions League, his form in the opening group games, meant that he has not been trusted to take charge since.

With Wojciech Szczesny on loan at Roma and Ospina hardly likely to want to endure another season as the number two, you would have to fancy that we will see Woj replace him next season and Dave allowed to leave.

“We have to agree with his club and take into consideration their contract,” Nur Cebi told Turkish TV channel Beyas TV when asked about the rumoured interest in the Arsenal keeper.

Ospina has made just three appearances this season and a total of 25 (plus one sub appearance) since he joined from Nice in the summer of 2014.
