Despite Guillem Balague shooting down the recent Nolito to Arsenal rumours, various sources are claiming that we’re ready to trigger the Celta Vigo winger’s release clause.

Apparently, we can get the 28-year-old for £13m but Barcelona are also interested when their transfer ban comes to an end in January.

Balague has previously mentioned that Nolito wants to go to Barcelona. However, if we were to come in and trigger a release clause, there’s not a huge amount that can be done unless the player is dead-set against coming to north London. Although I’m sure he has his preference, if we offered him a decent contract, I doubt he’d say no.

Ultimately, the final say is down to the player so if we are indeed interested in the winger, it could come down to whether he wants to hold out for his dream club Barcelona or take what he’s given by us.
