After qualifying for the knockout rounds of the Champions League on Wednesday, it’s possible Arsenal fans don’t actually need any more good news.

Anyway, I’d say we deserve it. After pulling his hamstring against Norwich City at the end of November, Alexis returned to his native Chile to undergo treatment for the injury.

Expected to be out for a few weeks, his recovery is still on track and – according to SoyChile – he is hoping to return to team training next week ahead of the huge clash against Manchester City on 21st December.

As far as the Premier League is concerned, the game against City is set to be our biggest of the season so far. Arsenal are currently second in the Premier League, two points behind Leicester City and one point clear of Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

Though Joel Campbell has started to impress, it’s a huge boost to already have Theo Walcott back and almost any side would be strengthened by having Alexis, a player who anybody would dread facing.

He scored a screamer against City at the Emirates Stadium last season, will Alexis be back in time to do the same again this time around?
