Mesut Ozil is known for his ability to pick a pass through the eye of the needle and provide assists for just about anybody, but Arsene Wenger insists that Arsenal are spoiled for choice when it comes to providers.

Speaking about Ozil’s progression from ‘just’ a playmaker into a playmaker that can score goals, the boss also took a moment to praise the creativity of a few more of our players.

“What is interesting about Mesut’s game is that he is not only a provider now, he likes to get on the end of the things,” he said.

Later adding, “We have Alexis, Ramsey, Cazorla – they are all people who can create chances. You could see Campbell the other night has given a great assist to Alexis. I think all our players have technical ability to do that.”

Having so many players willing to assist each other and help provide goals for the team is an integral part of how we play. If we relied too heavily on just one player to rack up assists, just one injury could spell complete disaster for our campaign.

With goals not only coming from all over the pitch but assists too, we have the maximum chance of scoring. It also gives the players plenty of options when going forward, as they’re all more than capable of making that decisive pass.
