Wenger has praised Swansea following Arsenal’s 3-0 win over them in the Premier League.

The Swans were by far the better team in the first half, closing down every ball, not allowing us to string more than two or three passes together, and generally being pretty sharp all over the pitch.

Arsenal, on the other hand, were sloppy and slow, and we were lucky to not be behind at half time.

Although we pulled it back in the second half and actually decided to wake up, that doesn’t take away from the Swans’ fantastic first half.

“It is always a difficult game, we were a bit edgy [in the first half] but in fairness Swansea showed quality again today,” Wenger said.

“They are maybe going through a spell where they have less confidence but they are a good side. In the first half, it was difficult but in the second half we upped our purpose, our tempo and had more purpose in our passing, with pace in our combinations.

“Once we scored the first goal we were the dominant team and won the game normally.”

The 3-0 scoreline reflects just how hard we went in the second half and represents just how powerful our fire power is. Our world class players, Ozil being just one example, gave us the cutting edge and we were then able to go on and win it in our usual fashion.

Considering Swansea did the double over us last season, I’d say 3-0 away is a huge result for us. The welsh team have caused us major problems in the recent past and for us to not only beat them on their turf but do it by three goals is massive for us.
