Arsene Wenger has hailed new goalkeeper Petr Cech on his dedication to his job and unreal talent.

The former Chelsea man signed for us in the summer and has already made a huge impact on our team. I’ve lost count of the amount of match-winning saves he’s made at crucial times and he’s exactly what we needed.

On top of this, he’s a massive professional and numerous players have praised him on his communication in the dressing room and training pitch.

“I believe that there is no coincidence,” Wenger said. “What is repeated is not coincidence, it is just class. As well, not only class but dedication and consistency of quality.

“Knowing him well now after a few months, I’m not surprised by this kind of achievement because he is absolutely dedicated to his job, he analyses absolutely everything and is gifted as well.

“He is a super talent. He is certainly one of the greatest goalkeepers we have ever seen here in this country.”

The boss continued, “He plays in a position where age is less of a restriction than in any other job. Until 37 or 38 I consider that a goalkeeper can be completely able to play at this level.”

Before the season started, John Terry said that Cech could be a huge hand in helping us win the title in terms of points and he’s already proving his worth. It’s one thing having a world class strike force but if we’re letting goals in at the other end, it’s almost useless.

If he can continue in the way he has or, even better, improve further, there’s no doubt in my mind that he’ll be instrumental in our Premier League campaign.
