Another Arsenal game, another Mesut Özil assist.

11 Premier League appearances this season and he has assisted 10 Arsenal goals, more than any other player in Europe. The Gunners have only scored 22 in the league and two have been own goals.

The equaliser against Tottenham on Sunday afternoon, scored by Kieran Gibbs after Özil had found him with a superb cross, meant no other player has assisted in more consecutive Premier League games than the German. A record of six games was set by Cesc Fàbregas last season, but also included his last two games for Arsenal back in 2011.

That means Özil, who has laid on eight goals in Arsenal’s last six Premier League games, has set a new record for a streak in one season.

This time last season there was talk of Chelsea’s Fàbregas breaking Thierry Henry’s record for most assists in a Premier League season. The French striker set up 20 goals during the 2002/03 campaign, and Fàbregas was on course to set a new record before assisting just four times from the end of January to the end of May.

Özil is now on 10 assist for the season and, with 26 games left to play, must fancy his chances of beating Henry’s record as long as he stays fit. His current rate will cool down but he is an elite playmaker; nobody in the world can find a striker in space better than Özil does.

One record down, keep it up Mesut!
