A disappointing draw at Carrow Road made it three Premier League games without a win for Arsenal, who missed the chance to join Manchester City at the top of the table.

The result was underwhelming but it was all the performance warranted on a windy Sunday evening. Few players impressed, a few frustrated, some just let the game pass them by.

Petr Čech – 8

Norwich only managed two shots on target, but Čech made two saves, the second of which won Arsenal a point. The first save was standard but punched well clear instead of back into a dangerous area, the second was a quick reaction to stop a cross which came off Gabriel going into the bottom corner. Superb stop.

Héctor Bellerín – 5

Very poor in the final third. Was rarely threatened at the back but let Arsenal down with his delivery and decision making in good areas, a rare poor display.

Per Mertesacker – 6

The German didn’t really put a foot wrong. Lost defensive partner Laurent Koscielny early but helped the Arsenal defence through the game as his usual composed self.

Laurent Koscielny – N/A

Subbed very early on with a hip injury.

Nacho Monreal – 5

Similar to Bellerín, though he did deliver two excellent balls early on to create chances for Mesut Özil and Olivier Giroud. Would’ve got a higher rating but none of the following eight crosses found an Arsenal player.

Mathieu Flamini – 6

His passing was clean and his work off the ball was good enough. A steady display, but Arsenal need more of a ball player at the base of the midfield to control the midfield and break down stubborn defences.

Santi Cazorla – 5.5

Was perfectly fine around the Norwich City box, but looked exposed in deeper areas when he was pressed. Was dispossessed in front of the back four a couple of times. He is suited to being higher up the pitch, so it isn’t his fault he is being asked to dictate from a much deeper position.

Aaron Ramsey – 6.5

His movement and passing was very good in the first half on his return to the starting eleven. He makes Arsenal look dangerous, just needs to get his fitness and sharpness back.

Mesut Özil – 7.5

When all else is bleak, Mesut is a shining light. Relatively speaking. Far from his finest day, but he set the tempo in the final third completing an astonishing 98.5% of his passes. Unfortunately he couldn’t unlock the door, but he did grab an excellent goal.

Alexis Sánchez – 6.5

Looked bright early on and assisted Özil’s goal, but struggled to regularly get involved in dangerous areas and was subbed off with a hamstring injury.

Olivier Giroud – 4

Not involved in build up play and not a goal threat. A horrible performance.

Subs

Gabriel – 3

Every time Norwich looked dangerous, Gabriel was involved. Nearly scored an own goal, was culpable for the equaliser, sloppy passing all evening. A performance to forget.

Joel Campbell – 4

Oh, he came on?

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – N/A
