Arsenal right-back Carl Jenkinson played the full 90 minutes for West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.

His second consecutive season on loan at Upton Park hasn’t been short of controversial moments, but a much quieter Saturday was had in the 1-1 draw with Everton.

The Toffees seemed to have some joy down the left, but Jenkinson was solid enough to help prevent them from scoring more than once as West Ham continued their strong start to the campaign.

With Mathieu Debuchy struggling in the Arsenal side and agitated to be behind Héctor Bellerín in the pecking order, Jenkinson could find himself back in north London as Arsenal’s second choice right-back next season.

Elsewhere, fellow senior loanee Wojciech Szczesny is gearing up for a huge derby on Sunday. Known for his brash and very public mocking of Tottenham whenever he was on the winning side in a north London derby, the Polish goalkeeper is surely relishing the chance to play in a fiery Rome derby.

Roma versus Lazio is always a feisty fixture, so the Arsenal man should fit right in. He certainly ‘gets it’.

Hopefully Wojciech is on the winning side on Sunday and we can do the business against Tottenham, so he – just like the rest of us – has more than one derby to celebrate.
