Another international break has come waddling along and for once it’s probably come at the right time.

Kieran Gibbs reckons some players need to go away, relax and recover so they can come back stronger, saying, “It was important not to lose this game but now the international break, we can recover for a few players and they can come back fit and we can push on after.”

We’re currently suffering from yet another injury crisis, with Theo, the Ox, Bellerin and Rambo all out. Not only are they first team players, they’re crucial, and our football is not looking good as a result of them being sidelined.

At the moment, we just need some time to get out of that red zone and recover from what has been an intense few weeks. The two Bayern fixtures have really taken it out of us mentally and physically, particularly our 5-1 loss away, and as experienced as some of our players are, they’re still human.

The fatigue was really showing against Spurs, with Santi even being taken off at half time because he was dizzy, and that probably means they could all do with a bit of a break.
