Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has joined up with the Spain said for two friendlies, despite slight concerns around his health.

The 30-year-old was subbed at half-time of Sunday’s Premier League draw with Tottenham Hotspur as he had been “dizzy” in the first half, which was badly affecting his performance.

The playmaker had already been called up to the Spain squad for friendlies against England (13th November) and Belgium (17th November) but common sense may have told you he would spend the two weeks without an Arsenal game to rest instead, as both internationals are ultimately meaningless.

Nope, Cazorla has joined up with his team-mates ahead of Friday night’s game against the Three Lions.

Perhaps he is feeling better, but with Arsenal already missing midfielders Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain we have to hope some care is taken.

Cazorla has started all 12 of the team’s Premier League games so far this season as well as all four Champions League group games, captaining the side on five occasions in the absence of Per Mertesacker and Mikel Arteta.

Arsène Wenger will be watching all of his players anxiously as they play for their countries over the next week, but he will probably watch Spain with more fear than most as Santi Cazorla is seen as an integral part of the midfield.

Hopefully Santi has a successful international break, feels much better than Sunday, and performs well should Vincent Del Bosque give him time on the pitch.
