Arsenal’s terrific Premier League form has seen Arsène Wenger win the manager of the month award for October.

Playing four Premier League games during the month, the Gunners were in top form. A flawless month took Arsène Wenger’s side level on points with Manchester City at the summit of the Premier League.

Kicking off with the superb 3-0 defeat of Manchester United, an international break briefly interrupted the domestic fixture list but didn’t put a dent in Arsenal’s form.

Returning from international duty, the side beat Watford at Vicarage Road before the same scoreline before seeing off Everton in a much tighter affair, which ended 2-1. Another 3-0 win against Swansea rounded off the month in superb fashion.

Four games, four wins, 11 goals and just one conceded: nobody can begrudge Arsène Wenger his 15th manager of the month award.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t a player of the month award for Mesut Özil as Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy won it instead.

The English forward scored five goals in four games during October as he continued his incredible season. The Foxes won three games and drew once, but would’ve picked up just three points without Vardy’s efforts.

That meant Özil’s incredible month, which saw him score one and assist six of Arsenal’s 11 goals in just four games, still didn’t see him pick up a personal accolade.
