Unfortunately, Arsenal just weren’t any match for Bayern Munich and paid the price.

We started well with lots of pressing, kept our structure and held our shape well. However, as expected, Bayern soon started to pile on the pressure.

Predictably, in the 10th minute, goal machine Lewandowski netted a header due to the majority of our defence ball watching.

Two minutes later Ozil had a goal ruled out at the other end for handball, although it came off his elbow if we’re being honest. The cross from in from Monreal and there’s probably not a lot he could have done.

Bayern then continued to probe and Cech was forced to make a fantastic point blank save in the 17th minute, once again from Lewandowski, to keep the scoreline at 1-0.

Unfortunately this wasn’t enough and a Muller goal in the 29th minute, which Debuchy did little to prevent, made it 2-0.

Despite it looking as if we were in for a thumping, our goalkeeper continued his strong performance, tipping another chance over the bar in the 42nd minute.

Again, Cech’s save didn’t keep the score 2-0 for long and Alaba scored a worldie seconds later.

The onslaught and subsequent humiliation continued into the second half when Robben came on the pitch and proceeded to score almost immediately.

We did manage a decent consolation goal via Giroud and a few chances here and there, including a sitter from Santi, but it just wasn’t enough for the fire power of Bayern Munich and Muller brought the score to 5-1 in the dying minutes.
