Arsenal are set to be without Alexis Sánchez and Santi Cazorla for at least a week, but Laurent Koscielny could play at the weekend.

That’s according to Mail Sport, who are reporting that Arsenal fear Alexis and Cazorla will both miss the Champions League clash against Olympiacos next week.

The Gunners need to win by at least two goals in Greece (or by a scoreline of at least 3-2), but may have to do so without two of their biggest players. Alexis left the pitch after an hour on Sunday, holding his hamstring.

Santi Cazorla completed the 1-1 draw, but struggled through the second half with a knee injury and will undergo tests in the next day or two.

However, Laurent Koscielny could resume training this week despite his hip injury. Having the French defender back would be a huge boost ahead of a difficult week. Arsenal face Sam Allardyce’s Sunderland on Saturday in a must-win game at the Emirates Stadium after failing to win any of the previous three Premier League fixtures.

A good result will lift the spirits ahead of the big trip to face Olympiacos in another must-win clash.

Hopefully the injuries aren’t serious, with Arsenal still only two points from the top of the Premier League table. We need to stay within touching distance of Manchester City in order to launch a real challenge for the title this season.
