Jack Wilshere has revealed that Arsenal had a meeting regarding their set-pieces at the start of the season as they looked to improve their goal scoring record from them.

Scoring their second against Everton from a Santi Cazorla freekick, Arsenal were certainly looking significantly more dangerous from their dead balls on Saturday evening at the Emirates, and it is quite obvious that more work has been going into them this season.

Speaking as a guest on Goals on Sunday, Jack explained that the team sat down at the start of the season and not only analysed their own freekicks but compared the number of goals they produced to their top four rivals and realised that they were scoring far fewer.

“I think we’re starting to [score more from set pieces],” Jack said.

“It’s a big thing we talked about at the start of the season.”

I could be churlish and ask what took so long, but things are nice in Arsenal-land at the minute, let’s not be dicks just for the sake of it.
