Jack Wilshere has been hailing the arrival of Petr Cech at the club, reiterating what John Terry said about the goalkeeper being worth 10-12 points a season to his side.

While Chelsea make do with Asmir Begovic in goal due to Thibaut Courtois’s knee injury that is expected to keep him out for another few weeks at least, Arsenal have been reaping the benefits of having a keeper in goal who actually knows what he’s doing.

Putting in a match-winning display against Bayern Munich, Cech was also called upon to make a great save to secure all three points for the Gunners against Everton on Saturday evening.

Speaking as a guest on Goals on Sunday, Jack said “It is a massive signing.

“I think John Terry said he’s going to get you 10, 12 points and you saw against Bayern he kept us in the game.

“If you’re going to win the league, you need a player like him.”

Cech has kept a clean sheet in 50% of his Premier League games for Arsenal so far this season, while in total he has seven clean sheets in 12 games.

That’s pretty darn impressive by anyone’s standards.
