Hector Bellerin had another astonishingly good match against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, which saw Arsenal win 2-0.

The pacey 20-year-old was taking no prisoners in the match on Tuesday night and was responsible for the interception that led to our second goal from Mesut Ozil in the dying seconds.

Younger than Douglas Costa, who most would have predicted to run rings around the right-back, Bellerin showed huge character and professionalism to snuff out any danger from the forward.

Post-match, Arsene Wenger said he believes this is down to Bellerin’s desire. He wanted the ball, possession and control and his hard work paid off.

“It was an interesting fight between Costa and Hector,” the boss said. “He has that desire to be on top of his opponent.”

Bellerin consistently found himself dancing past the Bayern defence, showing that he’s almost as valuable going forward as he is defending. For the youngster to be putting in performances like this against a huge team like Bayern, who hadn’t lost this season until they faced us, shows just how brilliant he is.
