With two goals in his last three games as well as three assists, Mesut Ozil is enjoying something of a productive purple patch.

A class act every week, his performances against Manchester United and Bayern Munich have caught the eye of idiot pundits who only watch him when he plays in the big matches and have generally given him nothing but abuse since he arrived here in this country.

Speaking to the media ahead of the Premier League game against Everton, Arsene Wenger was asked about his German talisman and revealed that he would like to see him find the net more often and believes that it would lead to Ozil being more respected.

“I believe that I have said many times that a player of his calibre you want him to add goals to his assists”, Wenger told the assembled journalists.

“He looks like he is on the way to doing that as he almost scored in the first half with a right footed shot and scored in the last minute by getting into the box.

“He is a world-class player and if he adds goals to his game he will be even more respected.”

Ozil has 1 goal this season in the league, six assists and has created 37 chances while playing 31 key passes.

But, the morons need to see him score more to truly appreciate him.

Sounds about right, Arsene.
