With Alexis Sánchez, Mesut Özil, Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott all performing excellently it seemed to go under the radar, but Aaron Ramsey was superb against Manchester United on Sunday.

The Welsh midfielder played from the right flank but helped the Gunners gain a numerical advantage in the middle of the park, which aided our early dominance. With Bastian Schweinsteiger advancing to press Santi Cazorla, Ramsey tucked inside and utilised the spaces vacated by the German.

This gave Héctor Bellerín – also brilliant on the day – the chance to get forward as much as possible, attacking Ashley Young constantly. Working as hard as ever, his strength was on show as much as his passing range.

Ramsey played the ball through to Mesut Özil to assist Arsenal’s first goal, while a brilliant piece of skill saw the Welshman beat Ashley Young on the way to Arsenal’s third. Ramsey should have scored a fourth after finding a great space in the box but missed badly, an effort that left a negative mark on his performance.

We weren’t short of outstanding performers on the day, but let’s give Ramsey some love for his showing too.
